We Sent Filtered Bottles To Haiti

When the Haiti earthquake occurred in January 2010, we asked ourselves how we could help. I wish we could have afforded to just send a thousand filtered water bottles over there but we couldn't. Instead we enlisted the help of our customers with a promotion whereby we donated a bottle for every two sold (i.e. we used the profit to pay for the cost of shipping and donating bottles). Thanks to those customer who participated, we sent bottles over with missionaries.

Cheryl Lewis is one of the missionaries we sent bottles to for her group's trip to Haiti and she just wrote on Skirt.com about their experience with the filtered bottles and how it helped their outreach effort in Haiti. As I, and everyone here at GetTheBottle, hoped, the filtered bottles relieved the missionaries of a major stress: staying safely hydrated.
